Sweet, Billy! My mated pair is no place to be found this year @ Hermann Park in Houston....
Amazing how plain the females look in comparison, huh?

That is beautiful Billy. And so close. I had a few fly off of my pond last weekend. I hope they stay around. Maybe I can sneak up and get close enough to get some shots - probably not this close though. They are skittish.

Glad to see you posting.

Your frogs are getting prettier and prettier. Hee Hee. You see you do have subjects to shoot up there. Keep 'Em coming!

I've been looking for wood ducks too.

Thanks everyone, I have an iphone and bought ibird south, it has over 700 birds on it and I played the wood duck sounds. Allen was with me and I did not think it would be loud enough but it did call them in, I think Allen got some better shots than I did as he was using a better beamer. Wood duck are skittish. We were 20 inches behind in rain for 2010 and I was not seeing a lot of birds to photograph but it looks like we are getting more rain now. Hopefully I can come down to BSSP this spring. get some good shots and maybe come down to BSSP soon.

Thanks Ron and everyone who commented. I saw some neat stuff yesterday. I was working and looked up and saw a bird with a white tail, took a picture and it was an eagle (it was up there but I got the picture) and about 2 hours later, I heard a familiar sound, it was a B52 flying over about 400 yards high. I had to wait til it got some distance to get the whole plan in the frame. The B52's do touch and go's at an airport a few miles away from where I work. It was some cool things to see. I also saw a hawk and was trying to get a picture and another hawk dive bombed him.
