Very nice detail and pleasing backgrounds. Where did you find such a varied variety?

Excellent. Getting low is something most photographers seem to not want to do very often.

most of these are from Irving. Mute Swan is from Carrollton. Not sure abt. Houston, but Lesser Scaups, Wigeons, Pied-billed grebes and Gadwalls are common on many ponds here in DFW area in the winter. So are Shovellers. Ring-necked ducks aren't that common and usually stay far out like the Buffleheads, Rudy ducks and other duck species.

Many great ones, KD. :)

Make me want to get out, beat the cold, getting down and dirty again. I don't think i ever get that close on the grebe over there. Good job!

Daniel, am glad I got these when I did...just before the cold front when the temp. was in the 60s. The grebe is a lucky shot. Its from the spot where we checked out the night heron nest last year. He popped out very close and went in almost immediately. Glad I was all set up and could fire away a few frames. This is the only day I saw the Ring-necked out there and he came much closer than I had thought he would. He wasn't to be found the next day.
