A foggy afternoon in Galveston - 02-19-2011, 09:31 AM

Yesterday's beautiful weather provided the perfect motivation to grab my camera and head for the beach. Unfortunately, I failed to consider what happens when warm, humid air meets cooler water. I shot this one about 4pm. There were times when I couldn't see more than 50 yards, but it was still worth the trip.

Fog makes for a great giant softbox... Nice shot.

Nice find on the Reddish Egret Morph. I'm thinking about going down there but not sure about the fog.

I agree with the others. Nice shot and the fog adds to the photo.

Thanks to all of you for your comments. Sandy - the fog wasn't too bad, just have a towel ready to wipe off the condensation. The reddish bird I saw had it's breeding colors, and looked pretty good through the fog. He just wasn't very animated. The white morph was very active. (This was taken on East Beach.)
