Bluer than Blue - Eastern Bluebirds - 02-20-2011, 01:23 PM

Nothing better on a Friday afternoon than clear blue skies and a flock of Eastern Bluebirds...located these bluebirds flying back and forth between several trees this past Friday...picked out one of the trees that had some nice limbs for perches...positioned myself with the sun to my back...unfolded my portable stool and within a few minutes had them posing for me...spent about two hours sitting there watching, listening and photographing these beautiful little birds...hope you enjoy...comments always welcomed...ron

Beautiful! The one from the back is really special with his eye looking behind too.

Great captures Ron. Om my monitor, I can see a faint glow around the edges of the bird. Anyone else see it or is my monitor doing something crazy.

Fred, it's probably not your monitor...on some of these, I used the healing brush to remove some unwanted limbs...looking closer on my screen, I can see faint glow on #1, 8 & 9...I just started trying to use this tool in PE 8...is there some trick to removing this glow around the edges after using the healing brush...is there a better method for cleanup removal on your photo?

Really cool bluebird Ron... They are still on my want list, but I'm thinking it may be next year because it's starting to warm up down here and they head north.

Nice set, Ron. This is what I do. I match up the color of the background to my eraser tool then I outline the area, refine edges, Gaussian blur 2 pixels. I forgot to mention I also use Paintbucket. The osprey avatar is a prime example of Paintbucket tool.
