Headeded out to Brazos Bend SP here in the Houston area yesterday to see what was out and about. Surprisingly the birds were fairly inactive just sitting about, but the reptiles and about enjoying the cloudy warmth.

Thanks everyone! This was really my first time taking photos of wildlife since I'm mostly doing landscapes and motorsports stuff. I rented a 400mm f/5.6L to see how I liked it and figured this would be a good test of the lens. Overall it seems like a pretty good piece of glass for the price but I'm not in love with the bokeh/colors compared to my 70-200 f2.8L. I guess that's why it costs more than the 400 ;)

One more bird... can someone tell me what this one is? The extent of my knowledge of birds is as follows: Ducks, Eagles, Sparrows, Mockingbirds, annoying ones that wake me up way too early when they chirp outside my window.
