Top-notch, Fred. Very good lighting, sharp images (good feather details), clean backgrounds. I like the tiny water drop off the foot of the bird in the second image.

The avocet is awesome..love the sharp eye contact and raised foot. To me the pelican looks slightly soft, but it is a nice pose and shows the bill in full breeding glory.

Very nice shooting Fred...ditto on the comment about the water droplet...was there enough on the second one to get a full reflection of the Avocet...seeing the partial reflection wanted me to see more...might want to mix in a few vertical shots in your shooting if you're not already doing this...

Thanks for the C&C. I need all the help I can get

Ron, I didnt get the whole reflection dang it Wish I would have. I was using my ground pod and its not really to friendy to rotating the camera when mounted, Thats next on my want list is a quick rotation mount for it.
If I had noticed at the time of the shot I could have backed off of the zoom a bit to capture the whole thing. I was just too wrapped up in being able to get the close up I didnt notice the reflection in the view finder.

Thanks Leon and Beth for the comments.
Beth, I was using a Sigma 150-500 OS on my 50D.
