Thanks, Sandy. The platform is on the same path as the old ones, not on the Island. Trust me, I have a TON of shots to edit!

It's 100 miles from our area on the SW side of Houston. With good roads, it can be done in an hour and a half. If you do go, try to get an early start, so you can make the loop including the Bolivar ferry one direction. (ending @ Smith Oaks for the best light.) Anahuac NWR is nearby as well as Smith Point.

I was held in a Spoonbill nest for a few hours. It wasn't too bad, except for when Mama & Daddy Spoonbill fed me...
