Austin Zoo 03/2011 - 04-02-2011, 12:46 AM

Critique: CC:

Here are some photos from my recent trip to the Austin Zoo.

Most of the enclosures are completely surrounded by cyclone fencing, which makes getting clean shots difficult. You can see some remnants of the fences in the big cat shots where the contrast is weird.

All were taken with Nikon D300 + Nikkor 70-200VRII f/2.8 + Nikon TC14EII

Great looking photos. Favorite is the turtle. That fencing is really tough but it looks like you did a great job getting the lens to see through it.

Thanks everyone!

@Kenny -- the "zoo" is really more of a sanctuary for animals that were once "pets", or needed to be rescued for whatever reason. It's a neat place, and I think it's run mostly on donations.
