great lizard day - 04-02-2011, 03:54 PM

Critique: NC:

My first day out hunting lizards this year, it was a great day. I spotted a nice colorful male Collared. I let him get comfortable with me for and hour and then I watched him check out his territory. He went from rock to rock and checked on a few of his "babes" ( as you can see he did get lucky) Thanks for looking.

Fantastic behavioral images when he's with his girlfriend and just plain great shots of him by himself. These are cool lizards!

David,

Awesome series, and tremendous patience.
Did you, by chance, have that series in HerpNation magazine last issue?
I read the article text and was amazed at the patience it takes to get those shots!

No. It appears to only be a available in the magazine. There is a small photo of the first page of the photo spread here - http://herpnation.com/?p=464

The reason I wondered is that the photographer in that spread also mentions spending an hour or more stalking collareds for photos. I never had that much patience! The article photographer was Will Wells.
