Hi!

I'm Jerry from Montgomery and am going to take photos of bluebonnets tomorrow. It has been awhile since I have taken photos of flowers. I would really enjoy any tips that can be offered. Such as camera setting, lens setting etc. I will be using my Canon 40D with a Canon 24-70mm F 2.8 Canon 70-200mm F 2.8, 50 mm F 1.8 mm. Should I use a tripod?

I hope if I get down on my knees I hope I can get up!

Thanks!
Jerry

I hope you have them spotted already. I made a trip to the Brenham area today - over 200 miles round trip. Not much to speak of. All I wanted to do was take some good shots of my granddaughter. We went to Washington on the Brazos - almost completely nil. Old Baylor College - nothing. There were a few light spots along the way but I am not interested in pulling off the highway to get the grand kid out for a pic or two. There were a few fields on 390 west of Old Baylor but no access.

Good luck.

Tripods and landscapes are a great combination. Are you wanting to do macro type shots or a larger vista?

Back lit near sunrise or sunset. The road from Washington to Brenham tends to be loaded with them in good years. You can also head out 290 to Chapell Hill, and head towards Washington.

This was shot 300mm @ 5 feet.

@Princer7 I do not have a macro lens but yes I'd like to get close up. I was thinking of starting in the morning with manual at F 5.6mm with my 70-200 at ISO of 100. Will get up before sunrise hopefully!
