Some shots from the Rookery at High Island today - 05-08-2011, 09:27 PM

Critique: NC:

My wife wanted to go to High Island today for Mother's Day! There were very few Stragglers from the migration in Boy Scout Woods, a couple immature orioles and some flycatchers. Bolivar Flats is always good for some seabird shots and the rookery is still hopping!

Terrific, Will! The Great Egret is a work of fine art. Glad to see there are still many good reasons to head to HI. The songbirds are pretty much kaput, then? Quintana was dead today for them too. More, please....
P.S., your wife is my kinda lady!

I like the cattle egret - nice curve, color and background.

oh what time were you there? i was there from about 3-4:30 today, was by myself until some nice tripod-friendly folks came through (left mine in the car). They suggested I try Stingarees since i was starving and heading to Bolivar Flats. Did Anahuac, High Island, and Bolivar today (mum is overseas )
