Wood Duck PB - 05-16-2011, 03:00 PM

Critique: CC:

PB= Pixel Bender.

Not something you want to do to every photo, but can produce some cool results sometimes I think.

So what do you think?
The good, the bad, and the ugly. I won't take it personally.

PS: If you are a photoshop user and don't have this plug-in already, it is a free download from Adobe. Here's the link for CS5 users.

I like it - I have always thought this bird was just to colorful to be real and you made it look surreal.

This is one of my favorite waterfowls and I normally like seeing it in its natural environment but this rendering is very nice. I like the way it accents the colors and mutes the background and surrounding environment.

This would make an excellent wall hanging!

Thanks Jim.

That's kinda where I'm headed with this.
My bro-n-law commented a while back how he really liked this photo, so I wanted to put some custom touch to it and I'll matte and frame it up for him.

That's a very cool affect. I really like what it did to the background. Good work and thanks for sharing.

Love it and I love Pixel Bender. I've been using it for a few months now and have really had fun with some of the filters, but the Oil Paint one, the one used here, is my favorite!

This Wood Duck is perfect for the technique. It really looks great!

Did you paint away some of the effect on the WD? i've done that with some of my bird and people pics using layers.

Thanks Patti.

No actually, I did not paint any of it away...but one thing I did was a second application to the background masking out the duck.

I like it! Not a duck I would do this to, but you did very well! Again good one!
