I was pleased with the bokeh that the Nikkor 70-300mm VR ll produced when coupled with the Nikon D7000 on this shot of a white ibis at the UTSW rookery near downtown Dallas.

Very nice DOF Jeff and your right about the bokeh! I've got the old AF 75-300/4.5-5.6 and it does pretty good too...it's my bird shootin' lens out at BBSP, well when I shoot birds.

The catttle egrets are on their nests but don't have chicks yet.

Nice shot Jeff!! That lens is underrated in my opinion. Since I'm not really a pro shooter, my 70-300 vr was good enough for me to sell my 70-200/2.8 VR.

What made it really good at the rookery is its light weight since I was shooting upwards 95% of the time.
I'm keeping my 70-200mm f/2.8 but I'm very pleased with the image quality that the 70-300 produces.
