First time shooting Hummers - 05-23-2011, 09:52 PM

Critique: NC:

Had a good hour or so of action tonight at the feeder. This is my first time trying to shoot these little guys. So much fun! I actually had two of them fighting for the spots.

These are just my favs from the night. I love the blurry one. Didn't plan it but thought it came out really cool looking. :)

Good job! these guys can be quite challenging. It would be helpful if they stayed in one place longer than .5 nanoseconds :)

Nice images, especially for a first try. What kind of lighting were you using?

Thanks for the replies! Its a lot of fun shooting these little guys!

I was using my 200-500 at about 10 feet. F/8-11 at 1/250th. Two off camera flashes at 1/16 power angled in toward the feeder.
