Action! - 06-16-2011, 07:03 PM

Critique: CC:

Okay, do I like this just because I took it, or is it a good picture? The sun was setting and I was shooting in aperature priority and about to give up and go in the house when I heard the disturbance over at the fence. I shot a couple of frames and when I looked at the pictures, I thought the blur of this one captured the action of their battle.

Keep it or keep trying?

Because you took it.

Kidding, I think it is a cool depiction of action. Makes it a more active disagreement. Cool catch. My only critique would be to expose it a little more.

Thanks, exposure noted. I'm really trying to get things right in camera so I'm doing as little as possible in post and letting the chips fall where they may. Maybe I should have bumped up the iso a bit. I was at 100.

Thanks.

I am with ya there. The less editing the better.

Okay, took your advice and tweaked the exposure a bit in lightroom (I shot raw). Certainly makes them pop a little better.

Thanks guys. Hopefully I'll get a better head for my tripod this weekend and then see what I can do.

Cool action shot Michael. The increased exposure helps. I'd be tempted to try more of a horizontal crop to minimze the amount of windows in the background. They tend to pull my eyes away from the birds since they are lighter.
