Baby Robins: Day 4 - 06-30-2011, 10:11 PM

Critique: NC:

The saga continues. Should have them for about another week and a half from what I read. Today, the babies fell out of their nest and I had to put them back in. The parents showed back up and everything continued like nothing had happened.

I'm glad mama didn't get upset with you touching the babies. Keep us posted on these babies, please.

Myth: Touching baby birds will cause the parents to abandon them. I used to rescue Purple Martins all the time, and the mama would get right back to feeding them once I raised the house back.

Oh John what I meant was mama getting mad and wanting to peck you. Once I spotted a baby Mockingbird on the ground, and I hadn't touched it, just looked. Mama was after me for the next week and a half and pecked me on the head a few times.

Ouch! I was pecked on the head as a kid. It brought blood! When I was in the Philippines there were birds that had a tree next to a sidewalk that would dive bomb anyone who walked past. It was great fun to watch form our dorm balcony! :)

My reply wasn't in response to anything you said. It was just for the benefit those who might not know.
