Cute South Korean Squirrel, Chipmunk, Thing - 09-19-2011, 06:53 AM

Critique: CC:

I have been dying to get a shot of this lil guy. I have only seen them three times since I have been stationed here since June. Finally, I saw them again and had my camera with me and though they would just run as usual. But, they didn't; maybe because I was in uniform. Anyway this is just one shot of many and is not even the cutest one. Might post those later if ya want. Like they say always leave them wanting more.lol Oh, it has feet like a Kangaroo Rat, body of a Squirrel, markings of a chipmunk and stuffs its mouth like a Hampster. Hope ya enjoy.

He probably didn't see you because of your ACUs. You know, all that camouflage and stuff.

Nice capture! These small guys can be rather challenging to get good sharp images.

I think that is Tamias sibiricus, the Siberian Chipmunk.

Love the shot with the full cheeks and cocked head.

I agree with Mish. If you could crop off the left 20% of the frame (and not lose the aspect ratio?) the shot would have more "punch". Darn these little rodents being so uncooperative!

I don't think it would work without cutting off part of the chipmunk. A square crop could work though.
