Just for fun Hummingbird shots - 09-19-2011, 04:17 PM

Although these are technically not the greatest, I thought you might like to see a few "different" hummingbird shots. We have had more than 14 hummers this season. At one time we had 10 all battling for one feeder...we have 5 feeders out so go figure. I apologize on the descriptions. I have not figured out how to insert text in between the photos yet.

The first one I took because the hummingbird and the wasp were in an ongoing battle for possession of the feeder.

The second one should be called "In-Coming!".

I think that may be a female oriole sharing the feeder with the hummingbird but please correct the ID if I am wrong.

Interesting to see the Oriole at the feeder. Confirms what I was told that they prefer the sugar water over bird seeds. Nice catch.

Thanks David. We have had 4 females and 1 male oriole and they are constantly on the feeders. Thanks for confirming the ID.
