Texas Coast Vacation - Tricolored Heron - 11-02-2011, 07:19 AM

Critique: NC:

One of my favorite activities while staying at the beach house was to sit on the second level deck with a cup of coffee and my camera early in the morning...one morning I spotted this Tricolored Heron perched on one of the pilings of the neighbor's pier trying to catch an early morning meal...I slowly manuvered myself out on our pier so that I could get close to photograph him...I also found him around the bend doing some surf fishing...here are a few photos...hope you enjoy...C/C always welcomed...

Ron

Beautiful series. That last mullet looks big enough to last for a while.

Was that the same bird in both locations?

Thanks Tim and Johnny for viewing and your comments...always appreciated and enjoy reading them...

Tim: I believe it was the same heron...the two locations where I took these photos is only about quarter of mile apart...it appears that this bird along with a Great Blue and a Great and Snowy Egret always seem to hang out in this same area...

Ron
