The overcast really isolates it, great stuff! As to the skeeters, SBNWR is legendary for them. Last time I was there, I was overwhelmed just getting out for the bathroom at Wolfweed Wetlands. Yikes! With water in the pond, the auto loop can have some of the best waterfowl shooting in Texas this time of year.

thanks Bruce. Unfortunately there's really no water in the pond, only a bit in the ditches along side the road. I was there yesterday and the geese have arrived, but they're just circling overhead looking for a good landing spot. Hopefully the wetlands to the southeast of the circle road will have water and give them some wintering grounds.
