Also, even though the deer's head changes angles between the two shots, the orientation of the green arc remains the same. It may not even be the same deer in each, since the second shot actually occurred before the first, according to the time stamp. My guess is an internal reflection of some sort, possibly even originating from some object outside the field of view of the camera, that just happens to coincide with the deer's position.
this.

The flare has the same relative position to the eye in both frames. My guess is that it's an artifact of the eye reflection in the optics of the camera itself.

it's not just the one deer, it's on every deer that has a reflection in it's eyes. If you look at the top image, the deer in the background has it, just not green. And if you look at the bottom image, the deer up close has it, it's just hard to see over the fur. Has to be some sort of flair from the lens. Like when you are shooting into the sun and you get flare.

Ghosts! I went on a ghost tour in Ouray, Co, and the lady told us of a photo she took of "ghostly orbs" in a hotel room. They looked a LOT like lens flares to me, but SHE was she expert, not me. I'm sure she's right!

Later, I went to a nearby ghost town, and shot my own ghostly orbs outside one of the houses. I'll be glad to post the photo, if you want to see what one looks like!
