Very nice series. Kingfishers are a bit rare where I live.

Thanks everyone for viewing and leaving your comments...always enjoy reading them...the Kingfisher has been one of my nemesis for quite some time...while staying at the beach house, my normal morning routine would be to wake up before sunrise, make a pot of coffee, pour first cup, sit on 2nd level deck and enjoy the morning silence, grab camera gear and head out to shoot the sunrise, return to beach house, pour 2nd cup of coffee, sit in rocking chair with coffee and camera in hand, wait for something to fly over to photograph...I had seen these Kingfishers flying around in the area...one morning as I was enjoying my coffee, a Kingfisher flew across in front of me circled and landed on the pier next to ours...would have liked for the distance to the bird to be closer but sometimes you just have to accept what the birds give you...plus the morning sunlight was good...he stayed on the pier for maybe 10 minutes diving a couple of times to catch a small fish...

Nice series Ron. I too liked the KF shots as well as the one-legged birds.

I don't see many photos of a kingfisher so those made me very happy! A really fine series Ron!

That kingfisher sure is a bonus! Very hard to get these. I like the fish in it's beak. You hardly ever get the opportunity to get that! Nice work!

Thanks Jim & Sandy for viewing and your comments...opportunity is a funny thing...I have spent many months chasing the Kingfisher trying to get some decent photos with no luck at all...then one morning out of the blue, one appears right in front of you...
