Blue Quail I think ? - 12-08-2011, 10:26 PM

Critique: CC:

I had these walk right by the truck today and I have never seen blue quail colored like these were, looking at the head and breast I know its a blue, but looking at the back /tail section they looked like Bobs, I'm sure its just a blue. any one ever seen a cross ? not even sure it could happen?

They look bluer during breeding season.

I can't tell how big these are but there should be a dramatic size difference between the blue and the bob white.

Excellent shots!

Here's one from last February. Same bird, just better color due to time of year.

The real name of "blue" quail is scaled quail. Love the birds and your images.
