Birds at San Angelo State Park - 12-21-2011, 08:24 PM

Critique: NC:

Reasonably miserable morning of shooting at the blind at San Angelo State Park this past weekend. Yes, I know it's Wednesday. It's been a long month this week...

I brought back three that weren't too bad. Normally this blind is good for a dozen or so in a couple hours of shooting.

Blind itself is somewhat in disrepair. When I left for school 2 years ago there were three windows that could be opened for shooting. Today there is one. One has been sealed with silicon. The second is currently covered in plexiglass. The upside is that new windows are on order and should be in soon. But for now it is a miserable shooting experience.

So three somewhat common birds, but reasonable images: Canyon Towhee, Northern Mockingbird, and White-crowned Sparrow.

Many thanks Dennis & Ron. I'm happy with the shots, Ron, but I know that the blind there is capable of so much more. Hopefully they will get their act together in the coming year.

Jim,

I like the Towhee. You caught the subtle colors very well.

Glad to hear they are working on that blind. I used to live in San Angelo and I have logn wanted to drive up there and shoot from that blind.

Chris
