These look like very nice studio shots showing how interesting a possum can be.

Making me smile. Now if I can just get the one that keeps walking my fence to come in and take a few shots. Good job.

Always enjoyed seeing these. Glad you're posting them again. Merry Christmas! They look cute (as cute as possums can look) while sneaking a Christmas treat!

Nice shots. Missed your series of Possum shots.

I have relocated 12 of these guys from my backyard over the last year.

They will relocate themselves better than if you intervene..They won't disappear but if you remove the one the makes the strongest claim then the territory will be constantly up for grabs.. or so it seems to me..

Sorry but they are better off in a Nature Preserve, where I relocated them to, than in my backyard in an urban area. If I was in a rural area it wouldn't have been a problem.

If you want to be proper, as to what may be best for a wild animal, feeding them treats so you can photograph them isn't necessarily in their best interest either.

I know all that... We relocated some,, but I've studied them closely. It really comes down to how much support the environment provides. I live in a dense urban area and after we left them alone it always seems to come down to one animal.. I've had as many as 15 around, 4 litters from 2 females and they all find their own area to call their own. Relocating them upsets the balance more than feeding them. Plus relocating them exposes them to family groups that are foreign to them that are in the process of moving away from each other. New animals create another level of conflict. and then they are good little garbage disposers (less resources for less desirables).. Bottom line is you can have many or just one no matter what you do. Less stressful to not worry about them.
