Were all of these from one day of shooting. If so you hit the payload. Nice set of birds.

Looks like you photographed a hawk other than a Red-tailed! I am thinking the first three are Red-shouldered Hawks.

Really nice collection of raptors all well captured. Particularly like the third from last.

Thanks everyone and Happy New Year.

I was pretty lucky yesterday. For instance, I drove past the Red-shouldered Hawk in the first and third image of the first set. When I saw it I stopped and had to shoot back toward the rear of the truck (very awkward). I was so close that I couldn't fit the bird in the frame so it's tail was cut off. I pulled forward and shot the third image. I've got a few more that I shot after I turned around and went back. The first and third shots are full frame. About a third of the Red-tailed Hawks are full frame. Sometimes they would just sit there (not the norm that's for sure) and pose.

Pretty good end to the year... now it's time to go begin the new year.

Really nice series Michael. Love the 3rd from the end with it looking over the shoulder. Very nice composition. Mosquitoes bad?

Thanks David and Fred. I hate to say it but it's really easy shooting where I go... At least it has been.

Thank you Doug. No "skeeters" on the rice prairie that day. I usually don't have to battle them there. I think that they all live in San Bernard NWR
