White-Tailed Kite (Texas City Dike) - 01-01-2012, 10:38 PM

Critique: NC:

Visited the Texas City Dike last Thursday morning...as I was making the circle at the end of the Dike, I spotted this White-tailed Kite hovering out over the small grassy area...here are a few photos...the first six are a continuous sequence of photos and the other four are random shots...as always wished that I had been just a little closer...hope you enjoy...C/C always welcomed...

Ron

Neat to see them so close to home. This has to be a good year for them. I'm seeing them all over.

Superb images. Beautiful bird. I've seen only four in my life[two pairs]. These birds are very skillful raptors.

Nice shots. Like the ones where he is looking directly at you.

Nice catch to see the bird at the end of the dike - the closest I have seen them to there is over by Moses Lake.
