Thanks for all the kind comments! I was out there for 1.5 hrs. and came away with what I think are three or four good keepers. I learned today that my 400 f/5.6L focuses better and sharper at f/8 on my 7D. I was getting too many soft and OOF shots at 5.6 so I tried f/8 with much better success. My next acquisition will be either a used 500 or 600 for better reach.
