BBSP Birds - 01-02-2012, 07:24 PM

Critique: CC:

Tried to catch some birds today at BBSP, although I don't really have the best lens for it. Let me know what you think.

1. Heavily cropped

2. He was standing in a horrible spot, but he let me get close, so I can't complain too much.

3. A little game of tag.

The rest of the set is here.

There ya go. Off to a good start. Just a suggestion, Next time when shooting try, spot metering, and try to keep the shutter @1000, 7.1 apt. This works well with white birds. Keep at it.

Way to go Audrey!! Try Fred's Suggestion also sometimes with white birds I'll spot meter & set the EV to -1/3 or 2/3s.

Yeah, I think I was using evaluative metering (as soon as I noticed, I changed, but too late). I had to knock my exposure down on these already, they were way over exposed. It probably didn't help that I was there around noon with really harsh light. I guess that's what I get for deciding to go last minute and then staying up late the night before. :|
