Last trip of the year - 01-04-2012, 04:13 PM

Critique: NC:

Was able to capture a few images this past weekend in Estelline, Texas. My family and a few others go about to our hunting lease for new year's eve to avoid all the crazies and when time permits I get to take a few images. Hope you enjoy.

These wood peckers fly all around our blind and never seem to get close to me. This little guy/girl decided to hang out in the trees for enough time for me to snap him.

The dove were all over us as well.

Two Experiences I have never had are below.

The first was the moon chasing the sun down. Beautiful colors and I sat and watched the remainder of the moonset/sunset until it was gone.

Second image is a dust storm moving in..if you have never experienced one it is like a scene out of a horror flick. My son and I jumped out of our stand because it felt like it was about to topple! Needless to say we didn't hunt or take images for the rest of the day.

Love the silhouette of the dove and the sunset/moonrise. Looks like you had a fun trip!

Thanks Audrey We did have a good time but next time should be better as I won't be hunting with my son with a gun but we will load up the 7D and 1D and both shoot with CANONS!! Now that is my kind of hunting!
