Enjoyed some Peregrine activity on the last day west of Bosque del Apache. A falconer from the area gave us demo of the Peregrine's hunting abilities! He also had a Harris Hawk to demo, which I will post later. 1. OK you're to close,I'm leaving!! 2. OK one more profile shot! 3, 4 & 5. The hunt! 6. It was a good lunch 7. One more hunt! 8. Stay away! 9. A bit gruesome, but this is what I do!

Thks Michael!! I was using the 300/2.8LIS !
This was a trained hunting peregrine & the falconer gave us a demo that day. So I was able to get as close as 10 yards sometimes before he would get spooked. It was thrillig to see what that bird could do speed wise.

Thks Audrey-unfortunately the nature food chain gets a bit gory at times.
Thks Sheri - yeah, we were really lucky to get this demo from the local falconers. It is amazing to see them hunt in the wide open like that.
