A Double Header at BBSP - 01-04-2012, 10:20 PM

Critique: NC:

I ran down to BBSP twice on Sunday and caught both the morning and the evening light.

Saw the shovelers that have taken up residence...

This isn't the best shot, but I had been watching this guy go after bugs all evening and trying to get a shot of him getting one. I finally got it even though my shutter was a bit slower than I would have liked...

Wow, Patrick, really good stuff!!
I think the shutter on the bird & bug shot caught the wings with just enough blur to indicate the activity! Well done!

I agree with everyone else... These are a great variety! Love the bee catcher, hawk, and tern.

Thanks Ron. You do need to drop by there, though I have noticed that it can be somewhat variable from day to day. The hawks and harriers in particular may or may not show up (or at least show up close) depending on their mood that day.

Thanks Leon! I was hoping for just a bit more speed on the shutter as the details on the body also blurred quite a lot. I ended up doing quite of bit of selective sharpening in order to salvage the shot.
