A Few Birds from Pedernales Falls SP - 01-08-2012, 05:11 PM

Critique: NC:

Awesome morning in the bird blind at Pedernales Falls SP yesterday. Okay, how about awesome two hours in the blind. Got started later than I wanted to and didn't step into the blind until 10. Didn't matter...Filled my 16Gb card. I'd never done that before in a day's worth of shooting (and thus, didn't have my spare with me...Doh!). The birds were not horribly unique, but the shooting was really good.

These look really nice! I know shooting birds can burn up a card...that's why I shoot bugs, but I always got a couple of spares in my little bag just in case

Thanks, Jim. I hear what you're saying. I don't burn through the card space quite as fast when I'm shooting dragons or damsels (and I can't wait for them to return), but it was a straight up rookie mistake not to be carrying a spare card with me. If I'd gotten out there two hours earlier I would have been really bummed. I won't make the same mistake this weekend when I head up to San Angelo, though I'm afraid I won't have nearly the luck.

Doing better that me; I cant get close enough to get a shot at birds here. They are very skiddish. : )
