Hawk Feeding - What? - 01-08-2012, 06:26 PM

Critique: NC:

These are extreme crops but just wanted to add to Patricks shots. At first I thought this was a alligator but after seeing Patrick's shot perhaps a turtle. If it is a turtle did he break the under shell and pull him out? Didn't know they could do that. After getting a belly full he tried to take off several times with his catch but couldn't. Finally had to give up and leave his meal.

I missed the feeding hawk, but I saw him earlier catching a bullfrog. So it might be that.
I captured this a little earlier.

Very nice hawk shots, btw.

After looking at these for a while, I'm starting to lean toward Jim's suggestion of a big bull frog. In one of shots I got, it looks like whatever it is could be the green/brown back of a big frog and the shots you got could be the patterned underside of it. Anyway, Nice Shots!
