Critique: NC:

Not much left around here but cardinals and sparrows.
This shot just looks like a cold wintry day.
Taken at South Llano River SP. Canon 40D with 400 f5.6

Thanks everyone for the comments. I thought the mood was too good to pass up. The pose of the bird was also something I don't often see. I like environmental shots like this over the usual Audubon book-like shots.

Beautiful shot and great detail! Is this shot handheld or on a tripod? I only ask due to Im thinking about selling my 300 f4 for the 400 but im worried about losing IS.

Trey, it was with a tripod. I have handheld the 400 a few times but the results are unpredictable.
