Here's a few shots of hummers from our recent trip to Ecuador. We saw 32 species of hummingbird in about a total of 4 hours at feeders. I'm sure we could have seen 10 more species if we had tried harder.
Amazing place and well worth the visit. Most people headed to Ecuador apparently only visit the Galapagos and miss the best parts of Ecuador!
Golden-breasted Puffleg
Tyrian Metaltail
Booted Racket-tail (bizarre little bird!)
Violet Purple Coronet

(with a Fawn-breasted Brilliant) (barely salvaged ISO 3200 shot - no flash allowed here)
The names of the hummers are almost as amazing as the birds.
I also photographed such wonderfully named species as Empress Brilliant, Sparkiling Violetear, Black-tailed Trainbearer, Violet-tailed Sylph, Buff-winged Starfrontlet, etc.. I don't know who comes up with these names.
C&C always welcome.
