Excellent series of photos Stephen...really like the owl and the woodpecker...visited this park for the first time back in December...looks like maybe I need to plan another trip for a closer look...I took a quick walk on the Cottonwood Trail...

Thanks everyone. As you can see, most of these shots were taken on the same tree. I staked out a Sapsucker tree and waited. They make rings of holes around trees. They are really making big traps. As the sap oozes from the holes, bugs get trapped and create meals for not only the Sapsucker, but for several other species as well. Look for fresh sets of holes.
