Critique: NC:

There has been a Black-legged Kittiwake hanging around Isla Blanca Park in South Padre island (near the bait shack) for the last few weeks. Black-legged Kittiwakes breed in the high arctic on cliffs, etc., then are supposed to winter off the east and west coasts but only as far south as central CA and Virginia normally. Fortunately for birders, this young one didn't read the migration instructions. Fortunately it is both cooperative and photogenic.

Thanks all.

To be fair, I didn't find the bird. Other birders did and reported it on the Texbirds listserve.
They told me exactly where to go look and within 2 minutes of looking, the bird flew right by then preceded to fly by over and over and over again at close range.

If you are down on South Padre, it's worth a try to get a photo.
