Here are a few from various excursions out to Round Rock Memorial Park

Canon 1D, ISO 200, 1/500sec at f/4, 80-200mm at 200mm

Canon 1D, ISO 200, 1/1000sec at f/4, 300mm

Nikon D2x, ISO 100, 1/200sec at f/5.6, 200-400mm +1.4x at 550mm

And one of my favorites, though not too pretty:
Canon 1Ds, ISO 400, 1/50sec at f/5.6, 300mm + 2x

Great shot of the Mallards in flight Roy.
Classic image there.

Boomer, wonderful capture of the male woodie cutting a rug.
Knock your eyes out color.

Bruce, what the?????
Wonderful image quality on your duck with a doo.

Brad, nice duck, duck, goose.
Wonderful shots for just testing.

Daniel, you did get great detail on the goose.
So close you had to use an extension tube but it doesn't look unnaturally flashed with the FF.
Well done.
Thanks for posting the exif.

Bill, great captures from RR Memorial.
Good poses all around.
Really like the last!
That's how I felt at work today.
Thanks for the exif!

Thanks everyone for participating in Duck Wednesday.

Any more would be welcome!

Thumbs up Pretty Stiff "Competition" - 02-01-2006, 09:37 PM

This is fun and has been pretty stiff competition, but it's inspiring to see all the different kinds of ducks and photographic perspectives.

I hope next Wednesday we do : Great Blue Herons!!

Meanwhile, it's hard not to like the good ol' Mallard.

Tim T: love the misty BBWDs in flight!
Very cool captures there.
You even got one of them whistling away.
Excellent

Wonderful captures Russell!
Is that a snow goose?
Great in flight shot.
Love the silhouette image, very well done.

Sorry to hear about your camera Laurie hopefully it will be fixed soon.
Lovely Mallards I like the attitude shot in the first.
The second looks like he's smiling.
Nice image quality all around.

Funny pose Brad, we know how he feels.

Nice portrait of the Mallard Bruce, great detail, color, and I like the drop on the end of his bill.

Thanks everyone for participating in Duck Wednesday.
Some really nice images here.

Any more ducks out there?

Thanks and yes it is a snow goose. It's a bit of departure from ducks but waterfowl nonetheless.

Take care,

Russell
