The Coots are in full stride at Brazos Bend. Got these shots shortly after sunrise a couple of weeks ago.

Like the light and blurred wings for movement. They can really scoot. Good job on this action!

Very nice shots. If you don't mind me asking, what were your settings? I tried to capture these birds recently and I think my shuter speed was a little low. Maybe I should have used af servo as well.

Thanks Cory. Here are my settings. You should always use AF servo for birds. I've never had my camera set on anything else.

1/400 sec @ F5.6, ISO 400, spot metering, +2/3 exposure compensation
