Texas Wildflowers - 04-06-2005, 11:41 PM

These shots were taken at various locations around Austin and the Texas Hill Country. They were shot with a 1DMk2 and 135 f/2L plus a 20mm ext. tube or a 1.4xTC+12mm ext. tube.

Jim,

These are magnificent and up to your usual high standards. I particularly like the Coneflower. Every Spring we have a row of coneflowers in our backyard.

Thanks Bruce!

I think I like the Coneflower the most. I have several shots at varying stages of OOF BG and it really stands out. The compression from web posting does not do these images justice. The detail in the prints are great.

I tried to put in a variety of colors with this batch. I have a bunch of others including the obligatory bluebonnet.

Very nice photos Jim. You had better luck in the Hill Country than I did. I was up there last week and the wind was blowing so hard most days I couldn't get a decent wildflower shot.

It was pretty windy while I was there too. Thats why I used my 135 f/2L instead of my macro. I just set the shutter speeds high and tried to catch the shot between gust.

Hey Chris!

It was nice to meet you and I will holler at you when I'm that way again.

Keep me informed about you new toy. I would love to hear your thoughts about how it performs.
