Anahuac Sunrise/Sunset Wednesday - 12-30-2006, 07:37 AM

I'm going to split these up into Wednesday and Thursday posts, just to keep image load times reasonable. I think each day will have a photo with at least one bird in it, so this forum should be okay :-)

This is the little pond right at the entrance to the refuge. Taken very early, well before sunrise.

Sun just peeking over the horizon.

Sunset (just so you know it's going down, not up :-)

And a bird, after sunset, just so these fit in the nature/wildlife forum.

Very nice Bill. They are all good but I like the first one the best. I need to pay more attention to this little pond. What shutter speed did you use on this one?

Once again, I must have forgotten to hit post. Oh well...

Thanks Mike and Tim.

Tim, the EXIF is attached to all my photos, if you have something that will read/display it. This was 30 seconds at f/4.5, ISO 400. Not much light :-), it was almost a full hour before sunrise.

Very nice series Bill!

I like the first one too. So calm with a faint light on the horizon. Just beautiful!

Wild bill. The first one is so subtle... It's dark but i think i can see everthing, so quiet and peaceful. Awesome! Love it, wish it was mine

Thanks everyone! I do like long shutter speeds :-)

Patti, that's one of the reasons I really like going out shooting with other people. You see what the area is like in eal life, plus you get to see how each person interpreted it.
