The end of 2006

Unless I get a wild hair and go take "pitchers in the dark" these are the last images from 2006 for me...

Aransas NWR was sloooow this afternoon as far as wildlife goes but there were people all over the place I'll put a few more up after these.

I'm planning to be at Aransas NWR for sunrsie. I figured I may as well start the new year off there too.

I'm second guessing not going to the party that I was invited to (since the wildlife didn't cooperate) If nothing else I guess that I'll at least feel good in the morning vs "the alternative".

This is the last of them. I have a ton of Black Headed Vulture images but I'll leave them out. My Mockingbird and Robin images sucked... too much backlight and I hadn't put the flash / beemer on yet. So this is all that's left...

This was one BIIIIIIIIIG gator. I was happy to be using the 600 on him.

It was getting late and there wasn't anything else to shoot





Both of these were pushing it. I normally wouldn't post them but since it's the last two shots of 2006 I figured that it couldn't hurt. I was using my headlights when I shot these two. Shutter speed on the GBH was 0.8s hence the ghost...

Thanks Bill, me too... It's not "technically" a good image but there's something about it.

Michael, That vulture in #4 looks really ticked off about something. I like all the "open wide" photos - vulture, gator, coot. You got 'em all. BTW, I like the GBH shot too - something about the way the oof foreground kinda frames the bird.
