Anahuac Sunsets - 01-07-2007, 09:24 PM

Met up with Patti, Tim, and TJ right before sunset to try to catch a shot or two of a really pretty sky. I had a difficult time choosing one favorite out of my bunch, so I just grabbed one I liked.

To make it official for the Nature and Wildlife forum, if you look reeeeeaaaaal close in the upper left corner of the photo, there are a few Glossy Ibis flying to roost...

Patti and TJ, it was nice to meet you, and good to see you as always Tim.

I hope to see your sunset shots too, as well as your other catches. Post your sunset shots here if you wish.

Mike, It was great meeting you and Tim and it was nice to see TJ again.

What a difference 24 hours can make. This is what I was looking for yesterday!

I was using the 100-400mm on this one... 285mm, f13, 1/400sec, ISO100

I call this one Jupiter Rising because I think that might be Jupiter. It wasn't twinkling and it was very bright... 50mm, f16, 1.6 sec, ISO200
After looking at the sky charts, it was probably Venus, but I like Jupiter Rising better...

Haaaahaaa. Yeah, that's what Randy said when he saw my title. But I still like Jupiter Rising better than Venus Setting. Details, details.

Thanks,
Patti

Those sunsets and the great wildlife are the things I miss about living in Anahuac.

I hear ya' Tim. It's pretty out there.

Here are a few more from yesterday afternoon. It always amazes me that just by waiting a few minutes, or moving a hundred yards over, the entire scene changes.

All shot HH with a 50mm 1.4

Nice shots Mike and Patti. It was a purdy sunset. It was great to finally meet Patti and her husband. Also good to see TJ and Mike again. I haven't had a chance to process mine yet. I have been concentrating on the hawk shots, which were top notch yesterday.

Beautiful shots Mike and Patti. Sunsets on the water are very tranquil to me. Y'all need to print those or at least pick one out and print it.
