Does anyone know what kind of snake this is? I'm new to the snake thing and found this guy on my front porch. He was a bit over 3 feet long and when I approached him he recoiled into a strike pose (so I figured I'd leave him alone). Thanks for any help you can give.  _/oe |

What you've got there is a Texas Luminousbulbinous snake - commonly referred to as the 'light bulb' snake. I think youve got the right tool to handle him! ~lol - just playing - I believe that is a common Texas rat snake. I find them all over my property and generally i leave them be. You guys are just great... Not only do I know what kind of snake it is but I have 3 more shots of it, I know I can get bit and I know I can use it as pest control. Only in Texas! Thanks all, _/oe |
