Well, Rich's (http://community.wildflowerhaven.com/) site came thru with excellent reports, locations and tips. We headed out today in search of blue.

1st, Zilbiski Rd near FM 2679. Sun was still a bit high, but this field was solid and huge. Took 2 pics to get it all in......

And the required stop at Old Baylor......which is in full bloom with more to come in the next few weeks. This warm weather is making them pop as we speak. Some think that 2 more weeks will be prime, I think anytime between now and then will be great.

Michael, Old Baylor is west of Independence on Hwy 390. Check Rich's site linked above for other hot spots.

Wow! Awesome photos! - 03-24-2007, 10:38 PM

Ken,
Those are awesome photos! Thanks for the update on the reports. The photos are great. It tells me that the bloom is a bit early this year for that area. If we get a bit more rain this week then that should extend the flowering some, but it looks to me that this area is near peak.

Great shots, Ken. Was the old gas pump there in Independence? If so, I sure wasn't paying attention. Tons of potential there.

thanx, Bob, we probably crossed paths yesterday. The "gas station" is at Old Baylor, just west of Independence on 390. It is one of those places with a nearly infinite amount of potential for sure. It's a bit busy on weekends, but the building is in a great spot for afternoon sun. A few power lines had to be cloned out just to the left, but other than that it's pretty much just there for the (pic) takin'.

Here a very low angle hides the road and thickens the flowers.
