Excellent shots Mike. Are the spoonies pairing up yet or are they still "kvetching" and banging their beaks together?

Very nice shots Mike. Good work. I like the mating dance shot the best.

More from High Island - 03-29-2007, 10:57 AM

Thanks for the comments. My gear consisted of a Canon Rebel XT w/Sigma 50-500 zoom and a Sigma 1.4TC on a few of the shots. I used a tripod for all shots. My combo is too heavy for me to use without one.

The spoonies are doing both - kvetching and nesting. Still a lot of nest building and mating going on. Only saw one alligator hanging around.

Thank goodness for a weekday. Capt. Ray and I were the only ones there from 7am until about 11:30. Several bird watchers showed up in the parking lot as we were about to leave.

Love #4 of the first series! I went there on a weekday myself, much better-except for the mosquitos.

WTG Mike! You got some great shots. It's amazing that we shot from the same locations shooting pretty much the same birds, yet we have different images. Way COOL!
