A few from yesterdays trip to the zoo! - 05-20-2007, 12:50 PM

My wifes company picinc was at the FT Worth Zoo yesterday (how nice for me). I ran into a full dressed photographer and thought for sure he was a member of TPF, not! But he is now! Anyway here is a couple I took. What kind of birds are the black ones with the huge funny looking beeks? That one on the ground came over to feed his friend on the tree. The bee and flower pics were done at a differn't location. C&C always welcome.Name: birdkiss1.jpg

Thanks Rick. It was a little to crowded for me yesterday! A week day I think would be a lot more relaxing to me.

Chris
I was there on Friday, and it was very crowded as well. A zillion school buses full of excited kids. Not my idea of a quiet day at the zoo.

I don't know the name of those birds, but I sat there for quite some time and watched the male methodically hunt for bugs, and when he got one, he would hustle back and give it to his female mate.....

Nice series. Sharp close-ups. I think the first 4 are my favorites.

Your big bird is an African Ground Hornbill. This pair is exceptionally beautiful, and a great shot too.

Great work!

The images are sharp and the colors are very rich.

They are beautiful.
