Our future in Florida...I'm very excited - 07-22-2007, 01:25 AM

I'm down in Florida with my wife looking for a house and have taken a few pictures in the meantime. We'll be moving permanently to Florida in mid August. I'm looking forward the move and shooting opportunities. I got to see my first swallow tailed kite yesterday, so I hope to get some pictures before we head back to Texas next week.

Looks nice! I think you can get used to that and not be bored at all.

Thanks everyone, I'll make sure to keep posting as I take them. My wife and I are both very excited, this is a beautiful place. I met a local photographer yesterday and he invited me to the local camera club meeting, so I'm already in the right track. As soon as my wife saw his camera, she just said; "Oh no, we'll be here an hour", and she was right. The gentleman gave me some good pointers on locations for sunset and lightning photos.

Michael, I'll take the help, just let us settle and come on down. We'll be moving permanently after August 19th.

Where abouts in FL? I've been spending a week in St. Augustine every year since 1988... I love it there!

Congrats on the move. I thought the view my office office was a great improvement (and it was) but it doesn't compare. I spent a week in FL earlier this year and had a great time shooting the water birds. Stayed in Orlando (and never made it to Disneyword) but we put about 1500 miles on day trips to both coasts and places in between. Have a great time and keep sharing the photos.

Well Therese, you'll have to come visit.

Steve, I will be working in Crystal River, FL. Crystal River is about 65 miles north of Tampa and about 75 west of Orlando on the Gulf Coast.

I will try to do some more shooting this week and will post some more. I really need to find an underwater body for shooting manatees in the springs, so I can make the most out of the place.
