What is that in the upper center? It almost looks like a cross. Where is Rock Springs, TX? Is this on private land? If so we are going to have to have you drawn and quartered

Wow neat looking place and I'm guessing it's a bat cross :).
Is this one of the caves with flesh eating beetles?
Forgot if they are in all caves with bats or only vampire due to blood droppings, but know some in Tx do have the flesh eaters.

Don't draw and quarter me just yet! This is public land and belongs to Texas Parks & Wildlife Department.

While I don't venture onto public land much, this is one of my rare forays and it was worth it.

However, take a look at these posts from a few of my private land hotspots and I may once again be a candidate for being drawn and quartered.

I used a cordless spotlight with a red gel to light the sinkhole and a good ol' 580ex flash on the bats.

Some of these public bat caves have started prohibiting any flash photography indicating it distrubes the colony.

Even though I am just the wife of Russell and not a photographer myself I have to say that this is one of my favorites of Russell's. This was an interesting place to visit and I don't like bats. It was cool how they just kept flying out.
